Highlights of 2014 in photos

Hello everyone! It feels like 2014 flew by so fast! Even though there also were some though times, I look back at the past year with a big smile because it was awesome. :) I have done a lot of new things and tried to step out of my comfort zone more often. I  also said yes more often and because of that I met so many great inspiring new people and made so many good memories. My goals for 2014 were to live healthier, read more, and have lots of adventures! And I think I have accomplished that! For 2015 it's actually just the same, but I want to try to be more creative this year, do more DIY stuff, draw more, things like that.
A few days ago I looked back at some photos from this year and felt so grateful for all the good things that happened. I thought it would be a great way for you to get to know me a little better if I share some of these photos with you! So here they are, photos of some of my highlights of 2014! (in random order)

Hello everybody! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! :) If you follow me on Instagram or have read my post about my Christmas decorations, then you might already knew that I spent Christmas in Paris last week. I have been in Paris one time before, 3 years ago, but there were still so many things I wanted to see. And last week I have done many things, and also made a lot of photos, so I decided to make several post about my week in Paris. Hope you don't mind ;).

Mando Diao live in Paradiso Amsterdam

Hello everybody! It's already a little while back, but I want to share my experience from Mando Diao's gig in Paradiso (Amsterdam) with you! I'm a huge fan of this band, especially when I was in highschool because they make awesome and unique music. They are not the stereotype rock band and they stay themselves no matter what others think. Mando Diao went though a little change the last year and has a more artistic and daring approach now. And dared it was! They came on stage only wearing a towel around their middle and Bjorn Dixgard even stood next to me, singing Gloria in his underpants

A lot of people seemed to like my post about my autumn decorations, so I decided to also share my christmas decorations with you! It's not that much, but I hope you will like it or maybe get some inspiration for your own Christmas decorations. Let me know what you think!

A day in Amsterdam

I love Amsterdam, there is always something to see and there are so many inspiring shops and things. Last saturday I went to the area known as de 9 straatjes (the 9 streets) which is named after the nine side streets connecting to the main canals. This area has lots of unique shops and places to have lunch and has a charming atmosphere. I've seen so many cute and unique shops, had a delicious glass of hot chocolate, been to a large book store, saw a dead bat, and said hi to many cats!

Drawing tips | How to draw from a photo

Drawing has been a hobby of mine for as long as I can remember. Drawing helps me take my mind of things and is a great way to relax. A little music, a set of grey pencils and the hours fly by. Some of my friends have asked me if I could teach them how to draw from a photo. The main thing is that you take your time, don't rush it, and look very close to the details, is what I tell them. Here are some more of my tips on how to draw from a photo. I'm not a professional or something, I just like to draw and this is what I learned over the years.

Onerepublic concert

On October 28, after waiting for months, I finally saw Onerepublic live at the Kรถnig Pilsener Arena in Oberhausen (Germany). The concert was so amazing! Ryan is such a good singer. Live he's just as good as on the album. He is also so energetic! He was jumping on the blocks on the podium and even on the piano. It was so much fun watching him perform. And ooooow my goodness he came to our seats and he was standing like 10 cm away from me. We were so lucky!

Postcards & Coffee

One of the things I always like to do when I'm in a city I've never been before, is drinking coffee in a cute little cafe. Last week I've been to Leiden for the first time (about 55 km away from Amsterdam) with my dad he's girlfriend and my younger sister. We went to a cafe called 'Francobolli' which means 'stamp' in Italy.

Let's go to Hogwarts!

Hello and welcome to this magical blogpost about the amazing Harry Potter studio tour! I went to the Harry Potter studio's when I was in London at the end of August. This was actually the second time for me at the studio's (lucky me!), the first time was in may 2013. I really wanted to do a blogpost + a short video about the tour but it took a little while, but here it finally is! Enjoy!

My autumn decorations

School is started again, the leaves are slowly turning orange, the weather is getting colder... Jup it's definitely autumn again. Even though it's getting colder, the beginning of autumn is still one of my favourite times of the year (also because my birthday is in the beginning of October!)  When autumn starts I like to put some autumn decorations in my bedroom to give me that lovely cozy autumn feeling.

Lush Haul

When I went to London with my friend Janka, one thing we absolutely needed to go to, was LUSH!  For those of you who don't know what Lush is, Lush is a shop full with handmade cosmetics such as shampoo, bath bombs, sunscreen, moisturisers, soaps and a lot of other stuff, even beard cream! The shop smells amazing and it looks so colourful and every time I am at a Lush store I want to smell EVERYTHING! I can stay there for hours really...

A few days in London

At the end of August I went to London with my friend Janka for 5 days. It was the first time for Janka in London but for me it was actually the 5th time! I am really in love with London and I couldn't wait to go there again and to show this amazing city to her. Every time I discover new things in London and the city has so much variation and the people are really nice (in my experience).
Have a look at the pictures I made, and if you scroll all the way down, you'll find a video where I have put all my video footage together. Enjoy!

Mermaid Tail Nails

Hello there! My first blogpost on ValerieRandomness WHOOHOO! Today I wanted to show you this nail design I made. I recently bought a new nail polish (the gold one, see below) and for some reason it reminded me of a mermaid tail, and I love mermaid tails! They are so pretty. I love the glittery, shiny colours that nicely blend together, so I wanted to create something similar on my nails. Here it is!
